Delhi

Delhi, the capital of India, is a sprawling metropolis that blends ancient history with modernity. It's one of the oldest cities in the world, with a history stretching back thousands of years. Delhi is divided into two distinct parts: Old Delhi, which is rich in Mughal heritage, and New Delhi, which serves as the capital's seat of government and represents the planned city of the British Raj. The city is known for its vibrant culture, bustling markets, diverse cuisine, and architectural wonders, making it a fascinating destination.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this massive red sandstone fort was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century. It served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors for over 200 years. The fort houses palaces, museums, and gardens and is the site of India’s Independence Day celebrations.

Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Qutub Minar is the world’s tallest brick minaret, standing at 73 meters. Built in 1193 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, it is an excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture and is surrounded by historical monuments and structures, including the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and the Iron Pillar, which has remained rust-free for centuries.
